CHARSADDA: The police have arrested three alleged killers of a police constable, thus resolving the mystery of his blind murder.

Constable Nasir had been missing for the last one and half year, police officials said, adding the alleged killers confessed to the murder.

Addressing a press conference, SP investigations Ihsan Shah, DSP Abdur Rashid and SHO city Masood Khan said the constable, who was posted in Peshawar police, had gone missing on September 6, 2022.

They said that Nowroz Khan, a brother of the deceased and resident of Prang area, had submitted an application with the Commission of Inquiry, which ordered registration of a case into the ‘abduction’ of the constable.

The officials said that district police officer Masood Ahmed ordered formation of a team under supervision of SP Ihsan Shah.

They said that the police after collecting evidence interrogated Gul Afzal, an eyewitness, in the case, who divulged the identity of the alleged killers, identified as Jawad, Raveez, Sajid, Basir and Abdul Haq.

The officials said Jawad, Raveez and Sajid of Dawlat Pura area of Battagarm were arrested. They said the accused confessed to the crime, telling the police that they killed Nasir after an exchange of hot words with him over some issue, and later threw his body into a canal.

The police officials said a pistol, a motorcycle and a tractor used in the murder were also recovered from the men.
