KARACHI, March 18: The community development department of the city government is holding a contest for selection of Huffaz, Qari and Qaria who will represent Karachi in the upcoming Annual National Hifz-o-Qirat Competition-2006 to be held in Islamabad.

The Hifz contest will be held on March 29 and Qirat contest on March 31 at 9am at the Khaliqdina Hall. Huffaz up to 25 years of age can participate in the Hifz contest.

While the Qirat contest has two levels in which Qari or Qaria of age 16 to 25 years can participate.

Those willing to take part in the selection contests should submit their NICs or Form-B or birth certificate and Hifz-i-Quran certificate issued from the respective madressah along with the registration form issued by the city government’s community development department at Khaliqdina Hall or the department’s office adjacent to Arts Council Pakistan during office hours.—PPI
