LAHORE: The Punjab government has gazetted the appointment of administrators for metropolitan and municipal corporations, district councils, municipal committees, and union councils.

The Punjab governor gazetted the administrators, who were notified by the Punjab Local Government and Community Development Department a day earlier.

The Lahore deputy commissioner (DC) has been appointed as the administrator of the Lahore Metropolitan Corporation. The commissioners of the respective divisions have been appointed as administrators of the municipal corporations at the divisional headquarters. The Murree Municipal Corporation will be headed by the Murree DC, while the Sialkot Municipal Corporation will be headed by the ADC (Revenue), Sialkot.

The deputy commissioners of the respective districts will head the respective district councils.

All municipal committees housed at the district headquarters, except those housed at the district headquarters, will be led by the ADCs (General) of the respective districts.

The assistant commissioners of the respective tehsils have been notified as administrators of municipal committees other than those housed at the district headquarters.

The union councils across the province will be headed by the assistant directors of the LG&CD department of the respective tehsils.

The gazette notification states that every administrator shall perform all the duties and exercise all the powers of the respective mayor and deputy mayor or, as the case may be, the chairman or vice-chairman, and the House until the constitution and assumption of office by the elected local governments.
