LAHORE: Players from five countries, including India, have expressed their interest to participate in the first baseball league, which the Pakistan Federation Baseball is organising in February-March next year, the top PFB official said on Tuesday.

In a media statement, PFB president Fakhar Ali Shah said besides Pakistanis the players who had taken interest to compete in the league included contestants from India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Malaysia plus Palestinian players based in America.

“The PFB organised a women’s league successfully in Lahore recently and now we are getting ready to host the international league,” Fakhar said. “The weather in February-March will [also] be suitable for baseball.

“Overall 40 foreign players will be part of the four teams in the league,” he further said.
