RAWALPINDI: Commissioner Aamir Khattak on Monday directed to display panaflex banners outside all hospitals and specialised health centres to inform people about details of services available free of cost.

“These panaflex may read the details of health facilities provided in that centres and also tests, medicines which are available free of cost for public. Likewise, the fee of ultrasound and others tests should also be mentioned,” he said.

He said these measures will help ensure that no patient is overcharged or unnecessarily referred to private setups. Apart from this, there should also be panaflex outside government departments containing all the information of required documents to be attached with applications.

“It will help people submit complete applications and get them processed promptly. I would visit government departments on coming week to check these panaflex,” he said.

He expressed these views while chairing a review meeting of the divisional coordination committee.

Director Local Government Sibtain Kazmi, Wasa Managing Director Saleem Ashraf, RWMC chief executive officer Rana Safdar and other officials attended the meeting in person whereas DCs Attock, Jhelum, Chakwal and Murree participated through video link.

The commissioner directed the additional commissioner to devise such a mechanism through which it can be traced when a specific application was received and how long it took to get processed from concerned offices. It will help to evaluate the performance of offices.

He directed the deputy commissioners to make their performance up to the mark as per indicators issued by the chief minister about good governance initiatives. He said in order to pass on the benefit of reduction in the price of wheat to the public roti should be made available at the fixed price.

While giving a briefing, the meeting was informed that the price of roti had been reduced to Rs15 in Attock and Jhelum districts.

The commissioner directed to reduce the price of roti in the rest of the districts as well. Price magistrates are checking tandoors on a daily basis for enforcement of the price. In the last 24 hours, three persons were arrested and 41 other violators were fined Rs145,000.
