LAKKI MARWAT: The elders of Abakhel have formed a jirga to improve law and order in the rural area and resolve problems of people.

Addressing a meeting, held here on Sunday with Misbahullah Khan in the chair, they said that integrated efforts were inevitable to maintain peace and overcome issues faced by locals.

Mr Misbah said that elders from all clans were given representation in the jirga. Former district councillor Irfanullah is its chairman and Haji Adnan Khan Advocate is its president.

Other office-bearers of the jirga include senior vice president Malik Saifullah Khan), vice presidents Faqir Mohammad and Liaquat Khan, general

secretary Mehmood Khan, deputy general secretaries Sakhawat and Asmatullah, joint secretary Haji Azam, finance secretaries Asmatullah, Shakirullah

and Maulana Imam Shah and information secretaries Ishfaq Ahmad and Tauseef Khan.

The elders said that they would motivate youth to play their role in resolving problems of people. They said that they would not allow miscreants to disturb peace and carry out criminal activities in the area.

They asked people to join hands with them to purge the area of crimes and social and moral vices with the help of law enforcement agencies.
