SWAT: Peshawar High Court Chief Justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim on Friday stressed the need for cooperation of the legal community to ensure swift and efficient delivery of justice to the public.
He made these remarks while chairing a meeting at the PHC’s Mingora Bench here. Representatives from district judiciary, presidents of PHC, Mingora Bench, Bar Association, district and tehsil bar associations of Malakand division, and members of KP Bar Council were also in attendance.
The meeting reviewed the progress on pending court cases, addressing issues hindering the dispensation of justice and fostering better collaboration between the bench and the bar to expedite justice delivery.
Justice Ibrahim emphasised the need for legal fraternity’s help to ensure a smooth and prompt dispensation of justice to the litigants.
He instructed the district judiciary to work diligently to alleviate the hardships faced by the litigants.
The district and sessions judges provided updates on pending cases in their respective districts and the challenges encountered.
Representatives from the bar also shared their concerns and sought resolutions from the PHC chief justice.
Justice Ibrahim directed the district and sessions judges to intensify their efforts for speedy disposal of cases, reaffirming the high court’s unwavering stance against any judicial malpractice. He urged them to remain vigilant and ensure that any misconduct was dealt with firmly.
Regarding judiciary infrastructure projects in Malakand division, the chief justice assured that despite limited funds from the provincial government, he was committed to utilising available resources efficiently by prioritising projects for timely completion.
He emphasised that rebuilding public trust required a collective effort from all stakeholders. He stated that with firm commitment, achieving this goal would be easier. He assured his full support for the cause of justice and expected the same from all stakeholders.
