THIS is with reference to the editorial ‘Mass transit mess’ (May 3). In fact, the Red Line project came to a halt due to hyperinflation and price escalation, but the issues have been resolved. Moreover, contingency plans are in place to mitigate delays caused by unforeseen circumstances. In the meantime, alternative routes and real-time traffic updates on FM radio stations have been ensured to facilitate the commuters.

On the other hand, the Yellow Line project has made good progress in recent months, and all construction packages are scheduled to be awarded within the next few months. Besides, the construc-tion of Jam Sadiq Bridge has been started, and preliminary on-site work is in progress. Overall, the project is on track.
