LAHORE: Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has asked newly-appointed assistant commissioners to ensure the sale of roti and naan for Rs16 and Rs20, respectively, in their respective districts.

In a meeting with the AC here on Monday, she said artificial inflation should be reduced through price control mechanisms.

”Public service is not only the responsibility of officers, but it is their first duty,” she said and directed them to bring ease and convenience in people’s lives.

“Assistant commissioner is like my eyes, ears and arms. The public service agenda must be fulfilled in any case,” she said and added the provincial enforcement authority would assist the district administration in the discharge of various tasks.
