PESHAWAR, March 12: Minister of State for Water and Power Amir Muqam has urged tribesmen to strengthen the government’s hands in combating terrorism.

Talking to a 30-member delegation of Ghur Shamozai on Sunday, the minister said tribesmen had given unprecedented sacrifices for the country and he hoped that they would leave no stone unturned for providing all out support and cooperation to the government for elimination of terrorists and miscreants.

He said the writ of the government would be restored at all costs and no one would be allowed to damage property or take the law into his hands.

He urged people to help the government in flushing out terrorist and extremist elements threatening the society.

He said the country was economically stable and all the ongoing projects, including those pertaining to water and sanitation, communications infrastructure and power would be completed ahead of schedule.

The minister said the government had offered concessions to tribesmen for installation of electricity meters and hopefully they would cooperate with the authorities and pay their bills in time.
