KASUR: A woman was recovered from the riverine area of Kashmore district in a joint operation conducted by the Punjab and Sindh police on Sunday, according to the police.

The woman was kidnapped from the Phoolnagar area of Kasur district four days ago. She was later handed over to bandits in the katcha area of Sindh.

Following the incident, Kasur District Police Officer Tariq Aziz formed a special team to recover the woman.

According to the Kasur police, the victim’s location was traced to Kashmore with the help of cellular data and other techniques, after which the Sindh police were contacted, and a joint operation led to her recovery.

The woman was later handed over to the family.

Separately, Sarai Mughal police recovered a boy who was kidnapped a few days back.

According to the police, unknown kidnappers had kidnapped the boy, a seminary student, from Baloki village, some 65km west of Kasur city.
