RAWALPINDI: Director General Public Relations (DGPR) Punjab Rubina Afzal has said plans are being devised to use artificial intelligence (AI) to monitor electronic media channels, while work is underway on Punjab’s first cyber advertising policy.

The DGPR said this while visiting the Directorate of Electronic Media and Publication (DEMP) and the Press Information Department’s (PID) Cyber Wing in Islamabad.

Ms Afzal conducted a detailed inspection of the DEMP Central Monitoring Unit, Data Storage Centre and PID’s Electronic Media Dashboard. DEMP Director General (DG) Imrana Wazir and PID Cyber Wing’s DG Waqar Siddiqui were also present on the occasion.

The PID officials briefed the DGPR about electronic media and social media monitoring.

Speaking on the occasion, DGPR Punjab noted that the monitoring of electronic media was being harmonised with the requirements of the modern age and plans were being made to utilise AI for this purpose.
