KARACHI, March 9: The 55th Pakistan Flower Show 2006 was inaugurated by Defence Secretary Tariq Waseem Ghazi at a ceremony at the DHA Seaview Park on Thursday.

The Horticultural Society of Pakistan had organized the show in collaboration with the DHA.

The venue of the show presented an exquisite view of colour and beauty with exotic fragrance of sprouting multi-colour seasonal flowers spread all over.

Speaking on the occasion, Lt-Gen (retd) Tariq Waseem Ghazi lauded the efforts of the HSP for organizing such a splendid floral exhibition.

He said that the efforts of the HSP in giving cleaner and greener environments to Karachi and in promoting spots of natural beauty in form of flowers, shrubs, trees, gardens and parks etc were commendable.

He termed love for flowers as a recreational activity and a passion which reflected creativity and left indelible positive imprints of aesthetics and creative delight on minds.

Earlier, the chairman of society, Lt-Gen (retd) Jahanzeb Arbab, outlined the activities of his organization.—APP
