KOHAT: The security forces on Wednesday arrested the kidnapper of two brothers, who were abducted over a year ago, official sources said.

Kashif alias Khan and Asif alias Bagga were kept in the mountains in Shewa area of North Waziristan, some 14 kilometres from Thall tehsil of Hangu, sources said.

The security forces arrested their abductor, Gul Momin Wazir, at Tanda Chin checkpost when he was travelling in a pick-up vehicle.

The kidnapper was carrying the body of one of the two victims, Asif.

The two brothers were kidnapped from Thall area of Hangu district where they had a business.

Kashif was released after death of his brother. The victims spent about a year in the mountains.

Asif got seriously sick and was taken to Thall Hospital from Shewa by the kidnapper for treatment, where he died due to a heart attack.

He was taking the body back to Shewa in the vehicle when he was stopped by the army personnel for checking. They recovered the body from the back of the pick-up vehicle.

The FIR of kidnapping was lodged on Feb 11, 2023. The abductions were made in February 2023 over a money dispute.
