LAHORE, March 7: Six goals by Jose Rivas and five by Hissam Ali Hyder helped Bank Alfalah qualify for the final of the Quaid-i-Azam Gold Cup polo, winning 14-5 against Green Force on Tuesday.

Bankers led the first chukker 3-0 as Rivas scored twice and Faaiz Rahim Khan once.

Green Force opened the account in the second chukker through Ahmad Nawaz Tiwana but three-goal Faaiz struck his first for the bankers who came out with 4-1 lead.

The bankers dominated the third chukker adding four goals, two each by Rivas and Hissam to increase the lead to 8-1.

The bankers led the fourth chukker 11-3 as Rivas scored two more and Hissam one.

The losers scored through Mujahid Omar Khan and Khurshid Ahmed.

In the fifth chukker, Hissam scored two more while Faaiz one for the bankers. Ahmad Nawaz Tiwana struck two consolation goals.

Four goals each by Sattar Niazi and Dhruvpal Godara helped Sanofi Aventis beat Union Bank 11-6 to remain in the race for the final.

The two teams were tied 2-2 in the first chukker as Sattar and Godara struck one goal each. Vishal Singh and Umar Sadik added a goal each for the losers.

Sanofi Aventis forged ahead 6-2 in the second chukker as Godara banged home twice while Iftikhar Ali Khan Simba and Usman Haye struck one each.

The winners were 7-3 up in the third chukker as Godara scored his fourth goal while Nauman Wasif hit one goal for the losers.

The winners scored three more goals, through Sattar in the fourth chukker to make it 10-4. Bankers replied through Vishal.

In the fifth chukker the bankers added two goals (Umar and Agha Murtaza Ali Khan) while the winners added one through Iftikhar.

Four goals each by Guilermo Cuitino and Asif Tiwana helped Diamond Paints beat Lindt Chocolate 11-5.

Ahmad Ali Tiwana scored the remaining three goals for the winners. For the losers, Diego Araya scored all five goals.
