Two women killed in Larkana

LARKANA, March 7: Two women were killed in separate incidents here on Tuesday. Ali Hassan Korkani allegedly shot dead his relative, Bano, wife of Abdul Karim Korkani, in the Noor Mohammad Korkani village in the Arija police area over some matrimonial dispute.

Police arrested the accused.

In the Rehmatpur police area, Iqbal allegedly clubbed to death his stepmother over some domestic problem. Police arrested him.

Meanwhile, the Fatehpur police found the body of nine-year-old Nizamuddain Jamali in the kutcha area.

Police said the boy was a resident of the Imam Bakhsh Jamali village in Shahdadkot.

DISPUTE: A dispute between two groups of Abro and Mahar clans, which had claimed five lives, was resolved here on Tuesday.

Federal Minister Ghaus Bakhsh Mahar and Sardar Himath Kamariyo played the reconciliatory role.

Amidst tight security and after detailed discussions at the circuit house, the Mahars were held responsible for killing two Abros and the Abros were found guilty of killing three Mahars. The two groups were fined Rs1.9 million.

The murder of Najamuddin Abro five years ago had caused the dispute.

BIRD FLU: District Nazim Mohammad Bakhsh Arjio on Tuesday ordered to remove roadside slaughterhouses in the district and fine violators under relevant laws.

He was presiding over a meeting of poultry farm owners and shopkeepers to evolve a strategy to control bird flu in the district. District poultry officer Dr Mukhtiar Ali told the meeting that no case of bird flu had been reported in Sindh.
