RAWALPINDI: A woman was found murdered in her room in Pirwadhai area while a girl was killed after being hit by a recklessly-driven vehicle on Murree Road.

Zareez Jamshed lodged a complaint with Pirwadhai police saying that his sister Hafza Omer, 22, had been working in a mart in Rawalpindi for the last 10 months and was living alone in a rented room in Dhoke Najju.

In the FIR, he said that his sister returned to Rawalpindi after visiting her native town on Tuesday. He said when he contacted her three days ago, he found his sister’s mobile phone switched off.

Later, he received a phone call and was informed that Hafza had been murdered and her body was lying in Holy Family Hospital (HFH).

He further said after receiving the phone call, he and his father Jamshed Khan and Khuda Noor reached the hospital and found his sister’s body lying there.

He said she had a sharp wound on the left side of her neck. He suspected that his sister had been murdered by two individuals.

Meanwhile, a 10thclass girl was killed after being hit by a car on Murree Road, police said.

Mohammad Zeeshan lodged an FIR with the New Town police, saying that his sister had left home along with other girls to give her final matric exam paper.

He said on the way, his sister dropped her roll number slip in front of Nawaz Sharif Park.

The driver, identified as Kashif, stopped the van and when his sister got out to pick up the slip, another vehicle hit her.

The critically injured girl was shifted to Benazir Bhutto Hospital and later to District Headquarters Hospital but could not survive.
