KARACHI, March 4: The Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal has said that the grand rally held last Sunday, the complete nationwide strike on Friday and the ‘black day’ observed on Saturday were manifestations of the hatred against the US-Europe attitude towards Muslims who were deeply hurt by the blasphemy resorted to by some of their citizens and newspapers in the name of ‘freedom of expression’.

“The people of Pakistan have also expressed their sentiments by showing their disapproval of the President Bush’s visit to Pakistan,” they said in a statement issued here on Saturday.

The massive march on Sunday (March 5), to be held under the auspices of the Tehrik Tahafuz Namoos-i-Mustafa, would start at 3pm from Noorani Square near the Quaid’s mausoleum and culminate at Tower, it announced.

The participants of the march would be addressed by opposition leaders at the Tibet Centre. The speakers included Qazi Hussain Ahmad, Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Makhdoom Amin Faheem, Shah Fareedul Haq, Allama Sajid Naqvi, Prof Sajid Mir, Imran Khan, Raja Zafarul Haq, Liaquat Baloch, Hafiz Hussain Ahmad, Anas Shah Noorani, Mufti Sarfraz Naeemi and Mufti Muneebur Rehman, it added.

People would take out processions from different parts of the city and converge at the Noorani Square to join in the main march.
