Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz has said he would summon Brazil’s ambassador for a reprimand over remarks made by Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, who has been harshly critical of the conduct of Israel’s bombardment of Gaza, Reuters reports.

“No would will compromise Israel’s right to defend itself,” Katz said on X, adding that the envoy would be summoned on Monday.

The post did not specify what Lula remarks Katz was responding to.
