HYDERABAD, March 2: District Nazim Kanwar Naveed Jamil has asked fruit and vegetable associations to support the district government in its efforts to keep the city clean and provide healthy environment and hygienically safe fruits and vegetables to people.

He was speaking at a meeting with office-bearers of the Fruit and Vegetable Commission Agents Association at his office on Wednesday.

The nazim asked fruit and vegetable associations to present their proposals and programs for maintaining cleanliness in their areas.

About shifting of vegetable and fruit markets from the city, he said the district government was working on the schedule to shift the markets to the new location.

He said the government was in touch with stakeholders and departments concerned to speed up development works and ensure all facilities at the new vegetable market.

He said the local district government intended to take each step in consultation with and coordination of stakeholders.

SUNFLOWER: The Sindh Chamber of Agriculture has expressed grave concern over the supply of substandard sunflower seed and said that due to the Hysun-33 variety of sunflower seed, the sunflower crop had suffered tremendously.

A meeting of the chamber held here under the chairmanship of Mir Murad Ali Talpur also criticized the transfer of agriculture secretary.
