SUKKUR, March 2: Activists of the Ahl-i-Sunnat Wal Jamaat took out a procession and held a demonstration at Clock Tower here on Thursday in protest against publication of blasphemous cartoons.

The procession, led by Mufti Mohammad Ibrahim Qadri, Maulana Musharraf Mehmood Qadri and Iqbal Hussain Faizi, started from Qadria Mosque, Thalla, and after marching through main thoroughfares of the city, reached Clock Tower.

Speaking on the occasion, the protesters criticized Denmark and other European countries for publishing the blasphemous caricatures and termed it a conspiracy against the Ummah.

They said countries where the blasphemous cartoons had been published should apologize to Muslims.

They demanded that the government should sever diplomatic and trade ties with Denmark and other countries involved.

NAWABSHAH: Members of the Primary Teachers Association took out a procession here on Thursday against publication of blasphemous cartoons.

The procession started from a school and ended at the local press club.

Students of different government schools also participated in the procession.
