JHANG, Feb 27: Upgradation of the road between Ahmadnagar in Chiniot tehsil and Makhdoom interchange close to the Sial Services area on motorway will reduce distance between Islamabad and southern parts of the country by 80km.

This was stated by Kashmir affairs and northern areas minister Faisal Saleh Hayat while speaking at a public gathering at Lalian Town here on Monday.

He said the 35km-long road was being widened and upgraded at a cost of Rs80 million, and with the widening of Jhang-Lalian Road which was nearing completion the travelling time would be reduced considerably.

The minister also announced the provision of gas to Kandiwal Town and stoppage of Super Express at the Lalian railway station. He said during the next three months, the entire Lalian Town and its neighbouring localities would be provided with the gas facility.

He said if the residents of Lalian provided land, the govt would construct there a sports stadium at a cost of Rs100 million.
