KARACHI: The Sindh High Court on Monday issued notices to police, Rangers and others on a petition seeking recovery of former parliamentarian Nisar Panhwar and his son Mohsin.

The former MPA and his son are contesting the Feb 8 general elections from NA-231 (Malir-III) and PS-85 (Malir-II) as independent candidates, respectively.

However, they are said to be supported by the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-London.

Their family moved the SHC and stated that they were picked up on the night of Jan 9 by law enforcement agencies in a raid at their home in Saadi Town and since then their whereabouts were not known.

When a division bench took up the matter for hearing on Monday, police and other respondents did not file comments.

An additional advocate general submitted that he had yet to receive any notice.

The SHC repeated notices to the respondents with a direction to file their replies/comments by Jan 31.
