KARACHI, Feb 27: Around 200 houses in Clifton’s Block 2 and hundreds of apartments of several buildings, situated on Shahnawaz Bhutto Road, Soldier Bazar No 1, are getting contaminated water.

Residents of both the affected localities said although they have been exposed to various abdominal diseases owing to continuous supply of stinking water, the KWSB officials have not yet rectified the fault.

“Even our locality’s mosque ‘Masjid Abu Bakr’ has now started getting stinking water. One cannot even imagine the mental agonies with which we are passing through owing to supply of contaminated water,” according to residents of Clifton.

In Soldier Bazaar, Sadat Manzil and a number of other adjoining apartment buildings, on Shahnawaz Bhutto Road, opposite Irfan Govt School, Soldier Bazar No 1, residents complained that since they were getting stinking water, they have no choice but to consume sub-soil unhygienic water at the cost of their health.

Suspecting that sewage might be seeping into the water pipelines of their localities, residents of both Clifton’s Block No 2 and Soldier Bazaar apprehend that it may result in the spread of diseases.

OVERFLOW: Filthy water gushing out from some chocked gutters has inundated a streets in Federal B’ Area’s Block 2 (Hussainabad), opposite Memon Markaz.

Residents of the locality complained that although filthy water had been coming out from choked gutters for the last one week, the KWSB officials have not yet taken measures to rectify the fault.
