LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf’s former provincial minister and candidate from PP-118 (Faisalabad), Khayal Kastro, was allegedly picked by some unidentified men from outside district courts in Faisalabad on Friday.

The Kastro’s abduction was recorded on camera and was shared on social media.

According to witnesses, Kastro had reached the district courts for his bail in a case of violence and arson attack. When he was returning from the courts, some unidentified men bundled him into a white car and sped away.

PTI secretary-general Omar Ayub strongly condemned the ‘abduction’ of the party candidate and former minister by unidentified people in the broad daylight, despite the fact that he had secured bail from the court.

Mr Ayub said there was no justice or rule of law in Pakistan as the PTI candidate was abducted from outside the court.

Posting the video of Kastro’s alleged abduction on his ‘X’ handle, PTI leader Moonis Elahi stated that ‘cheap’ treatment meted out to Kastro had been seen by everyone that exposed the governance in the country.

Mr Elahi also chided the Election Commission of Pakistan for objecting to PTI’s intra-party elections while remaining silent over the abduction of PTI election candidates.
