Man arrested for online harassment, blackmail

TOBA TEK SINGH: The Federal Investigation Agency’s Faisalabad circle cyber crime wing on Wednesday arrested two suspects, one of them for sexual harassment of a woman and the other for an online fraud.

As per FIA spokesperson, a suspect, Qamar Abbas, was taken into custody after verification of a complaint against him that he was involved in online blackmailing and sexual harassment of the complainant, a woman.

The spokespersons said the suspect allegedly uploaded objectionable videos and pictures of the complainant on social media.

He said the agency officials recovered a number of videos and pictures of the complainant woman from the suspect’s mobile phone.

He said the other suspect, identified as Muhammad Abbas, was arrested from Jhang for extorting Rs431,000 from the bank account of a man through online fraud.

SUICIDE: A woman allegedly died by suicide after she threw herself in front of a fast moving train on Wednesday in Khanewal’s Jahanian tehsil.

As per witnesses, the woman, identified as Khalida Parveen (45), wife of Akhtar, suddenly jumped on the railway track near Chak 106 village, moments before arrival of a Karachi-bound passenger train and got crushed under its wheels. She died instantly.

Her family sources claimed that the deceased had domestic issues with her in-laws.
