TOBA TEK SINGH: University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) VC Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan says the interfaith harmony is prerequisite to make the country prosperous and to spread love and brotherhood in society.

He was addressing a Christmas event at the UAF Church on Sunday. He said the university had provided a conducive environment to the followers of all religions to perform their religious duties.

Mr Khan inaugurated 20 more housing units for the Christians on the campus. Christian religious scholars appreciated the role of the university for holding the ceremony.

Faisalabad Bishop Dr Andrias Rahmat, Fr Abid Tanveer, UAF Treasurer Umar Saeed Qadri, Dr Jalal Arif, Dr Shoukat Ali, Dr Tayyab, Rana Abdul Manan and Riaz Maseeh cut the cake.

MURDER: A man was murdered and three women were injured over family disputes in separate incidents in district Faisalabad on Sunday.

Police said deceased Khalid Mahmood and his relatives had a dispute over the engagement of a girl of his family Chak 429 GB in tehsil Tandlianwala of district Faisalabad. At this, two of his relatives shot him dead.

In another incident, a young boy opened indiscriminate fire on his two maternal aunts and a cousin over a family dispute in Chak 216-GB, Samundri in district Faisalabad.

The women, identified as Musarrat Bibi (40), Asia Bibi (35) and her daughter Aleena (10), were shifted to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, Samundri.
