KARACHI, Feb 20: The Sindh chapter of Jamaat-i-Islami, has condemned the government for detaining MMA chief Qazi Hussain Ahmad and blocking the way of the Shan-i-Mustafa rally in Islamabad by arresting MNAs Mian Aslam, Hanif Abbasi and hundreds workers.

Terming the action ‘illegal and unconstitutional’, the JI’s provincial leadership, at a meeting chaired by Mumtaz Ali Memon, called for the release of all those picked up during the protest and violence.

The meeting also deliberated upon the issues relating to the arrangements for the March 3 countrywide strike and the March 5 million march in Karachi.

Senator Dr Kausar Firdaus, Secretary General of the JI’s women wing, has also condemned the police action against participants of the Islamabad rally.
