RAWALPINDI: The establishment of the Rawat fruit and vegetable market in the garrison city will bring down the prices of fruits and vegetables in the open market.

This was stated by the adviser to the Punjab chief minister on law and parliamentary affairs Kanwar Dilshad while visiting the Rawat fruit and vegetable market near Chak Baily Mor.

He also visited various stalls, inspected the prices, and asked the buyers about facilities.

The adviser directed to speed up the development work in the vegetable market and asked the commission agents to bring the agricultural products to this market directly from the farmers so the prices of essential vegetables and fruits will be low in comparison to the prices in Islamabad’s market.

Speaking on this occasion, Mr Dilshad said that the first vegetable and fruit market in Rawalpindi had been established on special instructions of Punjab caretaker chief minister.

He said the caretaker government was taking steps to subsidise food items for the people of Punjab, including Rawalpindi.
