Ambassador Zhang Jun of China said while addressing the UN Security Council that the situation has deteriorated beyond a humanitarian crisis.

“In the face of all this, the world must speak out together,” he said. “Enough is enough.”

“A ceasefire is the only hope for the people of Gaza to survive,” he said, calling on those with influence to put aside differences and end the violence.

“There is no time to lose in saving lives,” he said, adding that no future can deviate from the two-state solution. As such, China stands ready to contribute to facilitate peace in the Middle East, he added.
