ISLAMABAD, Feb 14: Four Pakistanis moved into the second round of KL Open squash tournament, according to reports available on Tuesday.

The tournament, carrying a prize purse of US$30,000, commenced at Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) on Monday and is scheduled to conclude on Saturday.

All but one of the five Pakistanis appearing in the tournament won their first round matches. Arshad Iqbal Burki lost to Omar Mossad from Egypt.

The other Pakistanis winning their first round matches were Aamir Atlas Khan, Khayal Muhammad, Shamsul Islam and Basit Ashfaq.

BILAL WINS: Bilal Zaman of Pakistan has won the Buler Challenge Cup squash played at Hong Kong, according to reports on Tuesday.

In the final, Bilal defeated Cris Ryder of England with a score of 4-11, 11-9, 8-11, 11-10 and 11-8.

In the earlier matches, Bilal beat Joseph Desira from Australia in the first round, Scott Arnold from Australia in the quarterfinals and Hong Kong’s Wai Hang Wong in the semifinals.—APP
