A heavy police contingent and forensic experts reached the spot, collected evidence and recorded the statements of eyewitnesses. The police teams also collected 50 empties from the crime scene.

The police shifted the bodies to morgue for autopsy and started investigation.

Lahore’s Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Investigation Anoosh Masood told Dawn that the crime scene evidence suggests that the suspects ensured killing all the people on the scene.

He directed the officers to constitute a special team to investigate the matter and trace the suspects with the help of CCTV footage and arrest them.

Caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi also took notice of five people’s murder and sought a report from the IGP.

He ordered early arrest of the killers to ensure delivery of justice.
