The Bahadur Shah police shifted the injured people to the Sahiwal Teaching Hospital.

MEPCO: Two members of the Multan Electric Power Company (Mepco) recovery team were injured by local residents in Odha Colony near village 82/6-R on Friday when the team tried to disconnect electricity for nonpayment of bills in many houses.

On Mepco officials’ call, the police and elite forces rushed to the area.

The police resorted to aerial firing to disperse the crowd that had damaged the front screens of two Mepco vehicles.

The crowd also took two Mepco officials hostage, who were later rescued by the police.
