The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs has said it continues to use the figures released by the health ministry in Gaza in its reporting.

“The United Nations relies on the Health Ministry in Gaza as a source for casualties figures in that area. We continue to include their data in our reporting and it is clearly sourced. It is nearly impossible at the moment to provide any UN verification on a day-to-day basis,” a spokesperson for OCHA told Al Jazeera.

The statement comes after the Palestinian health ministry released a list of all the 7,028 people killed in besieged enclave since Oct 7 in response to comments from President Biden.
