LAHORE: Various political and religious parties took out rallies and held public meetings to show solidarity with the Palestinians and condemn Israeli attacks on the innocent and unarmed people of Gaza.

The Haqooq-e-Khalq Party held a convention in Chungi Amar Sidhu area which was joined by the activists who came in the form of rallies from different neighbourhoods of the area.

The participants raised slogans, including Free Palestine, Stop the Bombing, End the Siege of Gaza, and Down with Zionism.

Ammar Ali Jan, general secretary of the HKK, demanded immediate restoration of food, medicines, electricity and water supplies to the Gazans, and pledged that the Zionists would never be allowed to succeed in their evil intentions of annihilating Palestinians.

Haider Butt, vice-president, said that they supported all kinds of resistance by the Palestinians against the Zionist state. He lauded the Palestinian people for courageously resisting yet another brutal attempt by Israel to wipe them out completely.

Farooq Tariq, HKK president, strongly condemned the world imperialist nations for their continuous support of the bombardment by Israel and regretted that the so-called champions of freedoms like the USA, UK and European Union are openly supporting war crimes by the Zionist state. Their hypocrisy in defence of human rights has been exposed to the whole world, he added.

Actress Meera Sethi said that the whole world is expressing solidarity with the people of Palestine who are setting new precedents of resistance, struggle and sacrifice.

PPP:Pakistan People’s Party leader Faisal Mir and Allama Shabbir Farooqui led a rally in Township against Israeli invasion and brutal killings of the unarmed Palestinians.

An Israeli flag was also set ablaze to show hatred for the Zionist state for its continuous oppression of Palestinians, while slogans were chanted against Israel.

Mir demanded a war crime case against Tel Aviv for mass murder of unarmed children and women in Gaza.

ISO: The Imamia Students Organisation took out a rally to show solidarity with Palestinians.

Participants of the rally, including girl students, marched from Nasser Bagh up to Charing Cross on The Mall raising slogans of down with Israel.

They demanded that the Pakistan government should immediately dispatch relief goods for the Gazans facing blockade of food, water and medicines supplies by Israel.

They said the resistance by the Palestinians manifested that the Zionist state is not invincible.

Pakistan Sunni Tehreek organised a rally outside the press club, while Majlis Ahrar-i-Islam held a demonstration on Wahdat Road to condemn Israeli atrocities on Palestinians.
