KARACHI: The Board of Intermediate Education, Karachi (BIEK) announced the annual Intermediate Part-II results for Science Pre-Medical, Pre-Engineering, Arts (regular and private) and Commerce (private) groups quietly, behind closed doors, on Friday.
Chairman BIEK Professor Naseem Ahmed Memon and Controller of Exams Zaheeruddin Bhutto announced the results to their office walls before releasing them online.
Pre-Medical
In the Science Pre-Medical group, Yasra Ejaz of DHACSS Degree College obtained 995 marks out of a total of 1,100 to secure the first position and an A1 grade. Quratul Ain Jafri of Metropolis Intermediate College for Girls was second with 993 marks while Afshan Aslam Parvez of Bahria College Karsaz was third with 992 marks.
Some 27,000 candidates registered for the Pre-Medical exams, of whom 26,412 candidates participated in the exams, out of which 13,832 were declared successful. Thus the percentage of success was 52.37. Some 1,510 candidates got A1 grade, 3,428 candidates got A grade, 4,469 got B grade, 3,276 got C grade, 1,072 got D grade and 46 got E grade.
Pre-Engineering
In the Pre-Engineering group, Mohammed Abdullah Khan of Bahria College Karsaz secured 1,017 marks of a total of 1,100 to secure the first position and an A1 grade. Ibadur Rahman of Adamji Government Science College was second with 1,003 marks and Fatima Mirza of BAMM PECHS Government College for Women was third with 1,002 marks.
Some 25,308 candidates registered for the exams, of whom 24,827 candidates participated in the exams and 12,233 passed with a success rate of 49.27 per cent.
Some 869 candidates succeeded with the A1 grade, 2,133 got A grade, 3,014 got B grade, 3,924 got C grade, 2,103 got D grade and 148 got E grade.
Arts (regular and private)
In Arts regular group, Huda Bint Muhammad Salim of DHACSS College for Women secured first position by getting 958 marks out of a total of 1,100 marks to get the A1 grade. Ayesha Bilal of KMA Girls Degree College was second with 922 marks and Hamna Kashif Ahmed of Iqra Hafaz Girls Science College was third with 921 marks and an A1.
Some 14,460 registered for the exams, out of which 13,900 participated in the exams. Some 4,491 candidates were successful with a success percentage of 32.31.
Commerce
In the Commerce (private) group, Ilsa Raheel secured first position with 922 marks out of a total of 1,100 marks and an A1 grade. Zahra Mohibullah was second with 899 marks and Musfirah Naz was third with 852 marks.
Some 2,603 candidates registered for the exams, of whom 2,515 appeared in the exams and 1,054 succeeded with a success percentage of 41.91.
Only two candidates got the A1 grade while 23 got A grade, 133 got B grade, 430 got C grade, 425 got D grade and 37 got E grade.
