RAWALPINDI: Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has launched two reverse osmosis (RO) plants at two places outside Qari Khushi Mohammad Park and the Education Complex on Murree Road to provide clean drinking water to the citizens.

The RO plants were inaugurated by Commissioner Rawalpindi Liaquat Ali Chatta.

The RDA established these plants in collaboration with the Saylani Welfare International Trust, which has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the RDA to install RO plants at various places in Rawalpindi.

According to the details, Rs1.4 million was spent on the installation of the RO plants, and the work was completed in two months.

Speaking on the occasion, the commissioner mentioned that water is a blessing from Allah and should be used carefully. “Wastage of water should be avoided,” he said. He added that the announcement of the installation of more water filtration plants by the Saylani Welfare Trust is commendable.

Officials of the welfare trust conveyed that water filtration plants will be installed in more places and the work will be completed in next two to three months.

RDA Director General Saif Anwar Jappa articulated that the RO plants have been completed for the welfare of citizens and that clean drinking water will be provided to hundreds of government employees, among others. He added that the citizens of the surrounding communities will also benefit from it.

The director general further said that the RO plant is also a continuation of the RDA’s welfare works and that they will continue to plan more such projects.

He mentioned that an agreement has been made with Saylani Welfare International Trust to activate 15 tube wells of Water and sanitation Agency (Wasa) and that efforts were being made to provide clean water to the citizens.
