DERA GHAZI KHAN: A sound as loud as thunder or an explosion caused panic in several kilometres area in the city and its surroundings on Friday afternoon.

For a few hours, people kept calling police and their friends to learn about the nature of the explosion.

DGK Commissioner Dr Nasir Mahmood Bashir said that the sound was caused by breaking of the sound barrier by a PAF fighter jet and asked public not to pay any attention to rumours.

A jet or any other object flying faster than sound produces asonic boom. It isan impulsive noise similar to thunder.
