BAJAUR: A court here on Wednesday accepted bail applications of two local leaders of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf Dr Khalilur Rehman and Luqman Khan.

They were arrested six days ago allegedly for violating Section 144 by staging a rally to express solidarity with the detained PTI chairman Imran Khan.

They were set free from Khar prison soon after the court accepted their bail please. They had staged a rally in support of PTI chairman Imran Khan on September 15 in Mamond tehsil.

A large number of PTI workers were present outside the jail to welcome them. They were brought to their homes in Mamond and Salarzai tehsil, respectively, in processions of PTI workers.

Speaking to the party workers outside the prison, they termed their arrest unjustified and an attempt to deprive them of their constitutional rights. They said that such tactics would not weaken their commitment with Imran Khan.

FINE: The authorities fined several people for poaching birds here on Wednesday.

A statement, issued by the office of deputy commissioner, however, didn’t mention the exact number of the poachers. It stated that the action was taken by wildlife range officer Zahir Shah Yousafzai. It added that poachers were returning to their homes from the nearby mountains after hunting birds illegally.

The statement said the poachers were also detained for some time. They were freed after collecting fines from them.

The birds, recovered from them, were shifted to the office of wildlife department.

It said that the birds were later freed by Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Anwarul Haq at a ceremony.

The ceremony was attended by officials of administration and wildlife department.
