KARACHI: President’s stand praised

KARACHI, Feb 5: The Community Development Department of City District Government of Karachi and various political parties on Sunday organized rallies on Sunday to mark the Kashmir Solidarity Day.

Sindh Chief Minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim and Jammu and Kashmir All-Parties Huriyat Conference Convenor Yousuf Naseem led the rally at the mausoleum of Quaid-i-Azam.

On behalf of the people of Sindh, Arbab Rahim expressed solidarity with the people of Kashmir. He said that the Kashmir Solidarity Day would be observed till settlement of Kashmir issue.

He said that President General Musharraf had a very clear stand on Kashmir issue and expressed hope that the issue would be resolved under the dynamic leadership of the president.

The chief minister said that the talks between Pakistan and India were underway and the bus service between Srinagar to Muzaffarabad and train link between Khokhrapar and Monabao were results of the same.

Earlier, Town Nazim Col (rtd) Tahir Mashhadi of Jamshed Town welcomed the participants of the rally, who had come from different towns of the city and joined the central rally at the mausoleum.

SITE Town Nazim Izharuddin Ahmed Khan addressing the rally said that Kashmiri people must be given their right of self-determination.

He added that he fully supported the point of view of President Musharraf in this regard.

Gadap Town Nazim Ghulam Murtaza Baloch, Bin Qasim Town Nazim Umer Jat, Lyari Town Nazim Malik Fayaz, and other town nazims addressed the rally.—PPI/APP
