INSULIN SHORTAGE: There is an acute shortage of life-saving insulin Novomix, which, as is common knowledge, is required by diabetic patients on a regular and sustained basis, as it needs to be administered daily. The government and its regulatory bodies seem to be unaware of this basic fact because nothing else can rationalise their failure to ensure uninterrupted supply of such a critical medicine. Instead of passing the buck around playing some kind of weird blame-game, the relevant author- ities should get their facts right and address the issue on a priority basis.

RESILIENCE: Resilience is one’s ability to adapt and bounce back from adversity, stress and challenges. It helps children develop a positive mindset and problem-solving skills, enabling them to navigate through difficult situations more effectively. Resilience fosters emotional intelligence, allowing children to manage and regulate their emotions which reduces the risk of mental health concerns. To inculcate resilience in children, it is important to provide a supportive environment, encourage independence, teach problem-solving and emotion regulation skills, promote a growth-oriented mindset, and celebrate their achievements. By nurturing resilience in childhood, we lay the foundation of their wellbeing and success in adulthood and beyond.

ANNOYING PRACTICE: Traffic police in Karachi have adopted a new practice to add to the miseries of the citizens. A team, mostly comprising a constable and a forklift driver, picks up the parked cars and put them on nearby pavements. If the idea is to curb wrong parking, there are decent ways to ensure that. Will the authorities concerned take notice of such annoying practices in the city?
