MUZAFFARGARH: The police on Thursday detained the elder brother of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf leader ex-MNA Jamshed Dasti, Mumtaz Khan alias Badi Dasti, when he was attending a funeral in the city area.

After his brother’s arrest, Jamshed Dasti gave a statement in his video, saying that he and 240 million people stood by Imran Khan.

In the video, Dasti claimed that he was living in the Muzaffargarh city area and the police and agencies were busy trying to arrest him.

He questioned why the police arrested his elder brother who has nothing to do with politics.

Interestingly, in Muzaffargarh, only Jamshed Dasti was booked in the May 9 episode, where the police registered a case against him under section 7ATA for road blockage with a PTI mob. No other PTI workers or candidates were arrested because Qayyum Jatoi’s brother Moazzam fled to Dubai, and others held press conferences with the Istehkam-i-Pakistan Party leaders while some joined the PPP.

At Chowk Sarwar Shaheed, Rana Aurangzeb, who was arrested last month, was also a PTI candidate.
