GUJAR KHAN: Three women, including two sisters, were killed in two separate incidents within the jurisdiction of Jatli police station in Gujar Khan on Wednesday.

In the first incident, a 75-year-old woman was killed over a petty issue in Bandot village. The victim, identified as Noor Begum, was grazing her cattle when she had a brawl with locals over the matter.

Police sources said that three suspects allegedly attacked the woman with a hatchet in the fields and escaped. Jatli police reached the scene and registered a case after carrying out a medico-legal examination of the body.

In the second incident, two sisters were allegedly killed by their brother in the name of honour in Mastala village. According to preliminary reports, Nazia Noreen and Sadia Noreen had estranged relations with their husbands and had returned to their paternal house six months ago. On Wednesday night, their brother, Muhammad Rizwan, allegedly shot them with a .30 bore pistol and fled the scene. Jatli police, upon receiving the information, arrived at the spot and initiated investigations.
