QUETTA: Three terrorists allegedly involved in a suicide attack on a convoy of Jamaat-i-Islami emir Sirajul Haq were killed in a targeted operation conducted by the Counter Terrorism Department in the Murgha Kibzai area near Pak-Afghan border, in Zhob district, on Wednesday.

A spokesman for the Balochistan CTD said the operation was conducted on credible information about the presence of the terrorists in a compound in the area. He said the CTD personnel cordoned off the compound during which the armed men started firing on them. The CTD force took position and returned the fire.

“Heavy gunfire continued for an hour, resulting in the killing of three terrorists. Two CTD personnel were injured,” the spokesman said, adding that the terrorists killed were involved in attacking the JI emir’s convoy near Zhob.
