KARACHI: The outlawed Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) has claimed responsibility for the the incident in Lyari on Monday in which a Rangers officials was martyred by armed men. A senior police officer told Dawn that the BLF posted a statement on the social media to claim the responsibility.

The police had said that some Rangers personnel were performing their duty at a check post on Al-Falah Road in Chakiwara on Monday evening when two assailants riding a motorcycle opened fire on them and sped away. A Rangers soldier, Dilshad, 30, suffered critical bullet wounds and died during treatment at a hospital, they said.
