AJAUR: Construction work was restarted on Sadiqabad junction of 71-kilometre Khar-Mamad Gat-Timargara Khazana road project after several months.

According to a statement issued by the office of deputy commissioner, work on Sadiqabad junction of the project experienced unnecessary delay. It was demand of people from all walks of life to restart work on the road, it added.

The statement said that Sadiqabad was an important place, connecting different parts of the district with each other. It said that work on the project would continue till its successful completion.

The residents of the district have welcomed resumption of work on the project and expressed the hope that it would be completed soon.

They said that completion of the project would not only reduce the miseries of transporters but would also add to the beauty of Sadiqabad town and bazaar, one of the largest commercial hubs of the district.

FAKE NEWS: Police have arrested a youth for allegedly sharing fake news about the arrival of a foreigner woman at his friend’s home on his social media account in Salarzai tehisl of Bajaur tribal district the other day.

According to a statement, police detained Gulab Khan after registering a case against him for spreading fake news through social media regarding the arrival of a foreigner woman in Khona area of Salarzai tehsil to meet her friend Mohammad Ishaq.

It said that the arrested youth was shifted to police station for legal action after registering a case against him.

However, people from different walks of life mainly social media activists have condemned police for arresting Gulab Khan. They said that said his post was just for fun and not a serious one.

They asked police to release him without further delay and avoid taking action over such funny posts in future.
