LOWER DIR: The owner of a hotel was shot dead by unidentified persons on Chakdara Bypass Road in Gulabad area late on Wednesday night.

The deceased, identified as Saud Khan, a resident of Mohmand, sustained multiple bullet injuries when unidentified attackers opened fire on him in the limits of Ouch police station.

According to locals, the assailants managed to escape. The motive behind the killing could not be immediately ascertained. No arrest was been made till filing of this report.

Meanwhile, eight people were seriously injured during a clash involving gunfire in Redgi area of Maidan tehsil on Thursday.

According to Rescue 1122, emergency teams rushed to the scene immediately after receiving information about the incident. Rescue medical personnel provided first aid to the injured before shifting them to a nearby hospital.

The injured were identified as Ikram, Faisal, Sajid, Abdullah, Bacha Kamal, Sher Ali, Luqman and Mohammad Kamal. The circumstances leading to the clash were not immediately clear, while authorities were investigating the incident.
