KARACHI, Feb 1: The Pakistan Medical Association will organize its 17th Karachi City Marathon and Health Walk on Feb 26. The health walk would start from the PMA House and after covering a distance of five kilometres will end at the same place. However, the runners of full marathon will cover a distance of 26 miles while runners of half marathon would cover 13 miles.

The PMA said that as the marathons and walks had always been an event of great joy for citizens, this year too, the PMA was arranging for the best possible environment for this event. Free T-shirts and caps will be provided to the participants as well as music, games and refreshment would also be ensured.

The first 100 participants completing the walk will also receive prizes. The theme of the 17th marathon is “Keep Karachi clean, keep Karachi green”. Entry forms are available at the PMA Marathon House from 1pm to 6pm daily.

The PMA has requested Karachiites to attend this health walk and make it a big success. It said that marathon runners could participate as individuals or part of club/ corporate team. —PPI
