LAHORE: Ammar Baig, the son of noted singer Waris Baig, who learnt music in the United States of America and England is going to collaborate with Bilal Saeed and Aima Baig for his new music projects.

Talking to Dawn, Ammar says: “I am jubilant that I have stepped into the local music industry and have already released six song videos. I want to give a new perspective to Pakistani music so that I can produce some best music at the international music scene”. He has also signed a deal with US-based record label, Empire.

“I signed with a highly reputed internationally acclaimed record label, Empire, so that I could introduce Pakistani voice and music at the international level and could collaborate with big singing sensations in the world,” says Ammar Baig.

He has had passion for music since his early years as he was part of a high school choir in the US and did a diploma in music from the New York University besides training in the Oxford University.

The new singing sensation says that besides learning contemporary music, he also learnt classical singing from the likes of Ziaul Haq, a classical singer, and Ustad Ghulam Ali.

“I write, compose and produce my music on my own so that all three components gel well”.

Ammar has recently released his popular song, ‘Don’t Go Away’ shot in the USA. He says he will soon release a Spanish-Urdu song with his father Waris Baig. After this, he will release a Punjabi number. His song, “When I Was Your Man (Cover),” is a beautiful tribute to Bruno Mars and received immense appreciation from the audiences.

To a question, he says film music is somehow losing its depth because film songs in certain cases are not applied to the situation the song requires as compared to original soundtracks (OSTs), which are doing far better because of their relevance with the situation and the thought process behind it.

“I shall also be pairing up with Aima Baig and Bilal Saeed for my new music projects,” he adds.

Ammar says he recorded his two songs in the USA to give a new and fresh look to his song videos and both the songs will be released soon.
