TAXILA: The much publicised reforms in Punjab police proved to be hardly effective after a corruption case in Attock police surfaced. A video went viral where a police official was seen demanding illegal favour from a traffic rules violator.

In the incident, the traffic police official, who is a sub-inspector, is seen asking the person, who had committed a traffic violation, to get him a mobile phone package instead of depositing a challan fee.

Attock District Police Officer Sardar Ghias Khan issued immediate suspension orders of the officer in question and ordered departmental proceedings against him.

It is also worth mentioning here that earlier an audio was leaked in which some officials of Hassanabdal police were allegedly demanding money for the release of suspected robbers who looted passengers on the motorway.
